Toward the Light

I walk this road of life,
Traveling further each day,
The map to my destination is,
The Bible I read along the way.

Clouds oft' times obscure the vision,
And blind the route I should trod,
But when I look all around me,
It is then I see the Light of God.

Like a beacon in the seas,
Giving guidance to the ships,
His Light reaches out to me,
All darkness His love eclipses.

Like the planes that fly above,
Soaring o'er the clouds to a sky so blue,
His Hand reaches down and lifts,
My weary soul as troubles seem to pursue.

I long to reach the bright Light Shining,
It is there I will receive my reward,
Each step is closer to the beginning if,
My life and God's Love are in one accord.

I see the Light at the end of the journey,
It is leading me to my eternal home,
I have walked along this path for a lifetime,
And thank God I have not traveled alone.
